Reading Rockets 57-72 BLIZZARDS U14

Only seven players showed up for this friendly at Bohunt School in Wokingham, including new kid Thanos Kampos.
The boys were not playing CVL rules and were going to have to play the full minute game with click stoppages.
Our went out with a strong starting five, Logan Barter, Elliott Heyburn, Ko Stephens, JJ Tauro and Simon Tubesa.
The game started well and the BLIZZARDS soon took the lead 6-12 with Elliott, JJ and Simon all on form, but JJ was called for his second foul before five minutes and was beached for the rest of the quarter. Thanos and Timothy came off the bench and Reading got back in the game 12-14.
Starting we’re back on court from the start of the second quarter with Elliott Heyburn accumulating the points, Simon Tubesa getting his share of boards and putting some shots straight back up soon saw the BLIZZARDS go clear again 18-28 with Ko Stephens getting his first points after having made a few good assists. JJ Tauro was subbed again as he got called for a charge on a fast break. Thanos Kampos going on and also making a few good passes.

Not long into the second half JJ Tauro copped for his fourth foul, Logan Barter was working hard on defence marking up much taller kids and regularly moving into space on offence, Timothy Govolenko also now often marking his player out of action were helping out the BLIZZARDS hold on to their lead 41-48 with ten to play.
The last quarter saw another good defensive stand with Ko Stephens getting two good blocks as Elliott Heyburn was accumulating the points down the other end as the BLIZZARDS drew clear As JJ fouled out on his third charge call. Logan Barter finally getting his basket and one free throw late in the game to finish on 57-72 and a convincing win against Rockets Div2 National League side
