Farnborough Phantoms 69-78 BLIZZARDS

The BLIZZARDS were away to Farnborough Phantoms looking to consolidate their first win of the season at new league leaders Wodley three weeks ago.
The Blizzards had a strong side for this away fixture with only Gavin Frecklington and Joey Haynes missing.
After an even start 5-4 after three minutes, the locals soon pulled clear as they rained in threes from around the arc and finished the quarter with a buzzer beater for a healthy 24-13 lead.
Six minutes into the second quarter the Blizzards were still struggling with Farnborough three point shooters and the Phantoms had amassed a 18 point lead 39-21. The BLIZZARDS then took their second time out, a defensive change was made to stop their three point shots. The boys upped the intensity and soon started to get turnovers with Andreas Antoniou taking a charge and creating on offence with a delightful assist, the gap soon closed with an 11-0 streak, the score reading 39-32 before another buzzer beater from the Phantoms gave them an 9 point half time lead 41-32.
As for the Woodley win last month the third quarter belonged to Szymon Wawrzyniak with 12 points in the first five minutes to now bring the score back to a point 49-48, the next four minutes saw the lead change hands numerous times but the locals edged it again in the last minute of the quarter with two late baskets to make it Phantoms 59-55 Blizzards.
It was game on now with a quarter remaining.
James Vousden and Harry Preston making the difference offensively scoring another 11-0 between them, as the defence stood strong to see the BLIZZARDS take the lead 66-59.
