BLIZZARDS U12’s 17-41 Woking Bl’ckhawks
BLIZZARDS U14’s 39-37 Farnborough Ph G

The under 12’s were short on players again, so Toby Craig help out to make up the numbers after a fair first quarter were Elliott Heyburn scored all 9 points for a 9-4 lead things quickly got drastic, as Woking put on their better players Elliott turned his ankle and was sent to A&E for a long wait for him and his dad and fortunately only a diagnostic of a bad sprain. Without Elliott Heyburn the game was switched to a 4×4, our U12’s soon struggled but did show some good passing skills and a few baskets in the last quarter.
Final score 17-41

The U14’s were missing a couple of players for their game against still unbeaten Farnborough Phantom Girls team, Logan Barter stayed on from the U 12’s to help out. The Blizzards took an early lead and by the first buzzer were 12-6 up.
But their taller girls were soon finding their range and by HT it was game on 21-20.
Michael Dalhen was accumulating the points and keeping the Blizzards in the game but the Phantom girls were defending well and often stopping the Blizzards drives by standing tall on defence denying JJ Tauro and Mattie Hamilton. With one quarter to go the Blizzards had fallen behind for the first time 28-29. The last quarter was tense, the teams exchanged baskets 34-35, then Mattie Hamilton hit his two free throws followed by another Michael Dahlen basket 38-35, but with a minute left on the clock the the lead was cut to one 38-37 and then after a turnover, Ewing Farnborough top player soon drove and got fouled she had her two free throws to take the lead, she missed both and it was straight back to the other end with Michael Dalhen again making the difference being fouled, he scored one of his free throws for a two point cushion. Now one last defensive stand successful there was only seven seconds on the clock. Although the boys lost the ball with two seconds on the clock the Phantoms were unable to get back into our half to take a shot. Hard fought win 39-37
Well done boys, great performance by Michael Dahlen with 27pts and most rebounds 11, as well as steals and an assist
