Div1 BLIZZARDS NO MATCH FOR WOKING

11 Mar 2018 by Marcel Mavronicholas

Woking Blackhawk Hunters 104-50 BLIZZARDS

After Woodley’s loss at Yateley, the BLIZZARDS had already done enough to maintain their position in Div1 for next season. Yet again they went away with too many starting 5 players missing. The gaps were filled by the Div3 youth with this time Taylor Dawson, Stuart Elliott & Oliver Tate making up the numbers.
The game was soon all over as Woking hit 4 from 5 threes by the fourth minute for a 16-0 lead.
The quarter ending 27-3. The second was more even with Steve Tolloczko finding his range, a buzzer beater by Woking kept them clear 55-24 at HT.
A few minutes into the second half Steve Tolloczko looked to have injured hid knee, but although that seemed ok he wasn’t well to continue, the youth took over and hard work from Stuart, Taylor and Oliver all making the score sheet and strong defence from Andreas Antoniou saw the third quarter tied at 17 all. Woking still held a good lead 71-42 going into the last quarter. The Blizzards started to fade and tired leaving Woking’s fast breaks undefended as the points accumulated, the Blizzards couldn’t stop Woking getting to the 100 maker, for a comprehensive win 104-50.
Team:
Steve Tolloczko 21pts, Taylor Dawson 8pts, Oliver Tate 6pts, Andrés Peraita 6pts, David Blackburn 4pts, Stuart Elliott 3pts, Chris Mullan 2pts, Andreas Antoniou, Marcus Leach.
