DIV3 BLIZZARDS EASE BACK INTO A PLAY OFF SPOT

15 Feb 2018 by Marcel Mavronicholas

BLIZZARDS 72-39 Aztec Falcons

After last weeks disappointing away defeat 52-71 against a very strong Woking side, the BLIZZARDS needed a good win against the bottom side to get back on track and make no mistakes to aim at securing a play off place.

The team were slowly into their stride and trailed 4-8 with five on the clock, only 100% free throw shooting had them only one behind at the first buzzer 12-13. Three more minutes elapsed, and after a three Aztecs still lead 15-18, but that was the wake up call a 14-0 gave the BLIZZARDS now a healthy lead at HT 29-18.
The team was rotating players and quickly drawing right away from a tiring Aztec side 54-28 with a quarter left.
After Harry Preston had hit his three with over six minutes to play, like for their last game the U18 took over till the final whistle, the average age of the boys on court barely 17.
With Ben Firrell 4/4 and Taylor Dawson 7/8 extremely accurate from the free throw line the BLIZZARDS cruised home 72-39.
Good team effort, next game on Tuesday 15th away to Bracknell Cobras tip off 19:45.
