BLIZZARDS B 58-59 Woodley Jets

Having lost their first ever game in Div3 to Woodley by 21pts, the boys were keen on a better show.
It was a pretty even start but the locals had upped their game again and were slowly building a small lead 6-4, 11-8 and were 15-10 up at the first buzzer. The second quarter was similar and the locals took a ten point lead 28-18 with three minutes half time, Woodley then hit three basket, and no response from the BLIZZARDS and the HT score was 28-25.
Ben Firrell after having not scored in the first half, now started to find his range, the team were or fire and only two threes from Woodley No4 were keeping them in the game 42-33, as in the previous quarter with three minutes left in the quarter even though the Jets missed all their four free throws they managed to hit three baskets, two bonafide, the last a lucky banked buzzer beater from way out.
The BLIZZARDS took the lead three times 45-43, 49-44, and 53-50 with less than a minute to play but yet again a three pointer late on drew the Jets level 53-53 with 16 seconds on the clock, the locals were unable to get a shot up lost the ball and over time it was to be.
The over time was tense and never more than two points separated the teams, but again 2 threes saw the Jets take the lead 58-59.
The last possession with 4.2 seconds on the clock was with the BLIZZARDS but as the Div1 side on Tuesday it was not to be and they were unable to finish off the job.
