DIV1 Woking Hunters too fast

12 Dec 2017 by Marcel Mavronicholas

BLIZZARDS 59-72 Woking Hunters

After an even start the BLIZZARDS hit a 10-0 to take a 14-8 lead but three late basket saw Woking close on the buzzer 18-16. They quickly took the lead back after hitting their own 10-0 at the start of the second quarter 18-26, the Blizzards were determined and their solid defence and high intensity only let two more basket in the second half of the quarter and managed to claw back the deficit to draw level on HT 30-30.
As in the second quarter Woking were of the mark quickly, now taking advantage of slow reactions on transitions and scoring fast break after fast break to take the lead again 33-42 and were still up 44-50 by the end of the third quarter, even though the Blizzards had reacted well after a time out. The game remained tight but Woking kept taking advantage of that slow transition going back on defence giving away easy points. Woking stronger and faster on the break getting a deserved win 59-72
The Blizzards will need a stronger performance Sunday at Yateley with a lot of players missing
